Despite what some people think.
There is a means to prevent muscle loss.
I would have thought a lot more people would know this
But the more I have talked to people over the years
people who are considered to be educated
And others who are just your everyday gym goers
The more I realized that some people,
Still think that whether you do too much cardio
Or if you stop working out right away,
You will lose all sorts of muscle.
And that’s not exactly true.
Contrary to what people believe, you can still do cardio and keep on muscle.
Of course, if you do a high amount, you inevitably lose muscle.
That’s a fact.
But people can handle more cardio than they think.
But through online blogs and other misinformation
Some people have gotten the idea that doing any cardio,
Will quickly eradicate any muscle.
It’s really not the case
Your body can hold onto it more than you think
But your nutrition must be in order, and you need to be eating
The appropriate calories and macros as well.
And as long as your nutrition is in order you should be ok.
There are many people with different levels of fitness
But if you do steady cardio for generally 3 times a week,
For roughly 20 minutes you generally will be fine.
Some people can get away with doing more and others with less.
There are people with great genetics where their body tends to happen
To hold onto muscle even if they do excessive amounts of cardio.
It doesn’t mean they don’t lose muscle mass,
They still do.
They just might not lose as much.
But this obviously won’t be the exact same for everyone.
Another thing to note is,
Make sure to keep your protein intake higher on your cardio days.
Because as we all know protein is the main building block for muscle,
As it helps to stop it from breaking down and also rebuilds it.
Leucine, Iso-leucine, valine is the main BCAAs for this and can even be taken in a higher amount
On these days as well as they are the proponents of sopping muscle from breaking down.
The main takeaway is your nutrition and how its supplemented in your daily routine is important,
While keeping your protein intakes a bit higher on your cardio days.
So you see nutrition is always the most important thing when it comes to your body.
Whether its losing weight,
Building muscle,
Maintain muscle,
Gaining weight,
It all traces back to nutrition
This is why I think it's important for people
To really adopt on how to properly learn about nutrition
And how to structure their eating.
And it's no different when it comes down to
How to prevent muscle loss.
