You Can’t Just Do Intuitive Eating and Expect Results

You Can’t Just Do Intuitive Eating and Expect Results

So. If you don’t know what intuitive eating is, it’s basically a form of eating when you choose to eat when you are hungry.

When your body sends hunger signals and the hormone ghrelin kicks in, that intuitive eating method is about you going to the fridge and putting some food in your body to quell the hunger.

And to a degree, there is nothing wrong with this.

But the problem is that intuitive eating also says to just eat what you like or feel as feeling happy and content is the most important thing.

So, like I was saying, there is nothing wrong with this to a degree. Because the reality is that not everyone can do this.

Some people want to lose weight and can’t just intuitively eat and think they will lose weight.

If you ultimately don’t care and just want to eat for the sake of it then that’s fine. But this can’t be used as an alternative to a diet or a properly structured weight loss plan because it won’t work.

You see, food has calories, and those calories add up.

If someone who is intuitively eating decides they want to keep eating until they feel happy, or should I say, a little too full, then they will keep gaining weight.

Now maybe they can eat something healthier or low-calorie dense type of food versus something that is higher in calories for you.

This would be the idealistic thing too, except this isn’t preached by people who intuitively eat.

The realistic factor that peoples need to understand is that sometimes you need to restrict your calories to lose weight.

Just as you need to sometimes eat more if you need or want to gain weight.

Now we know it's easier to do the latter but that doesn’t change the fact that if a person needs to lose weight it comes down to the fact of eating fewer calories.

we could get into a discussion of other topics ranging about this alone such as how much weight does the person needs to lose, their genetics, the history of weight loss or weight gain, their nutrition, etc.

But the main fact is, intuitive eating alone is not enough.

You can’t just intuitively consume and eat whatever you feel like and think the results will come in.

If a caloric decrease needs to be put into someone’s eating structure, then so be it.

If someone needs to just restructure their eating regimen to help regulate their weight and assist with weight loss, then so be it.

But to just intuitively eat whenever and whatever you feel like can lead to weight gain and more issues.

So if you feel as though you want to intuitively eat just to feel good and be happy with how you look then that is no problem at all. Go for it that’s all you.

But down the road, if you need to lose weight because of health complications you have gotten then you know exactly what you have to change in order to get back to a healthy standard.

We all like to indulge in things which at some points, depending on where you are with your health is fine. But just be ready to pay the price for that.
