Live in the present.
A very simple phrase and reality that some people can’t understand
Everyone’s life is created and made up of mostly minor and major choices which have been accumulated that have brought you to this point.
Whether they have been smart choices or bad choices or a combination of both, you are where you are because of the choices you have made whether you were coherent to them or not.
Of course, there are circumstances that some people are born in or got pulled into which they never asked for or wanted to be a part of.
But I am not talking about those cases.
I am talking about the ones where people consistently make choices that keep causing them to lose or be thrust into a position that always allows them to end up not moving towards life, they dream for themselves.
And this is what brings me to the statement, live in the now.
What I mean by this is whenever you have to decide on something that is of mediocre to high merit in your life, something that makes a profound difference or a decision that could lead to other decisions that could make a profound difference,
Think it through thoroughly.
But when you think it through thoroughly, you need to look at two factors as well that you might be overlooking.
One is to look at your past and say to yourself, whenever I have decided on this situation or something similar, has it ever resulted in anything positive.
And the other is to look to the future and say, this decision I am going to make right now, is it going get me closer to the outcome towards what I am making this decision for, or will it again just set me back.
Because if you aren’t where you want to be in your life in one area or multiple places and you aren’t happy, then you need to change the decisions you keep making.
And you need to also put your emotions aside and think this through with logic instead of emotion.
Emotion can be a great driver for decisions as sometimes a current situation can flourish with passion.
But this could always lead to people constantly making the wrong decisions as well.
And I have found, leading with emotions when making decisions, especially critical ones, generally leads to a place I did not intend to be.
Sometimes the answer we weren’t looking for is the truth we needed to see or hear.
So, try and live in the present a little more by understanding your surroundings, enjoying the moments you have, and using your past and also your future goals as a beacon to make the best decisions possible.
