Don’t Wait. Start Now

Don’t Wait. Start Now

So, this applies to anyone and anything you are doing in your life, not just with fitness and nutrition, although you can apply it to that too.

And works for anyone at any age, although the older you get the more stubborn you become and set in the ways you are.

When it comes to whatever you want to do, do not wait. Just do it. Just continuously thinking about how you are going to execute whatever you are doing will just stall you from actually moving to do it.

I can’t tell you how many times I have spoken with people who want to work on a side hustle or passion or think they deserve a raise in their profession or just want to move forward and grow in an area and they sit and do nothing to move forward because they get stuck on the How.

If they had just taken one direction towards whatever they wanted to do, even if it turned out it was the wrong one there still would have been progressing. Because even if you find out it was wrong, you know not to make that choice again and also have gained experience and lessons from that wrong choice.

Were not perfect by any means so we are going to make wrong decisions on things we may not be well versed in. it's the only experience that allows us to get better and have growth in life and that starts with just taking action and moving on your idea.

But I can relate to this as well because in my earlier years I would do this exact thing. I would sit on an idea and just procrastinate about it and never move on it and before you know it would be weeks later, and I would STILL be thinking about it.

I remember thinking this was an ugly habit I needed to get rid of because of the amount of work I never got done and how I felt about never getting anything done.

So, I just started doing things right away. Instead of sitting on them, no matter how tired I was I would just push through and do it. And this involved everything from changing the paper towel to making phone calls at work. And time, through repetition and consistency I developed the habit of doing things instantly and consistently in a structured manner.

Because you have to see that, consistency with effort equals growth as long as you have a strategic plan meaning you have goals you want to hit. Never staying stagnant, always rising and wanting to achieve more. And this includes just getting up and doing it day after day.

Not some people do this for a few days, a couple of weeks or more, maybe a month, and then the majority retreat back to how they were before. That is when it becomes hard because you need to consistently stay consistent. You have to do it to the point when you do get aggravated because then you know it gets built into your system so much that you won't even question yourself anymore.

This doesn’t mean that there will be some days you put some things off. That will still happen. But the ratio of you not getting things done versus getting things done will be much more in your favor. And to be honest you shouldn’t even be focused on this yet anyways. Just focus on thinking, when there is a task, I’m going to do my best to tackle it right away if I can OR do it as soon as I can.

It comes down to what Bruce Lee had said: “Don’t think just do”. And it is that itself. Don’t overthink it, just act on it. The more you think about it the more anxiety you can build about it and stall yourself from completing any form of action towards getting it is whatever it is you want to do done.

So when wanting to do something do it either right or wrong. If you end up making a good decision that’s great keep going, and if not, you’ll know not to make that one ever again and gain some experience in the process.
